Description
A comforting pasta dish combining the earthy notes of broccoli with lean ground turkey, perfect for weeknight dinners and gatherings.
Ingredients
- Pasta (penne or fusilli)
- Ground turkey
- Broccoli florets
- Olive oil
- Garlic (minced)
- Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside, reserving a cup of the pasta water.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add ground turkey, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Incorporate the broccoli, adding a splash of the reserved pasta water to help steam the florets. Cook until vibrant and tender, approximately 3-5 minutes.
- Combine the drained pasta with the turkey and broccoli mixture. Toss with additional reserved pasta water as needed for moisture. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve warm, garnished with freshly grated Parmesan, if desired.
Notes
For added flavor, sauté garlic with red pepper flakes and serve with a splash of lemon juice.
