Description
A comforting and family-friendly dish featuring seasoned ground beef, vegetables, and pasta, perfect for casual dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced (any color)
- 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 cups pasta (elbow, rotini, or your preference)
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a large skillet or pot, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the diced onion and bell pepper, sautéing until softened, roughly 4-5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef, cooking until browned. Use a spoon to break up the meat as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juice), beef broth, and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then add the pasta. Stir well to combine, ensuring the pasta is submerged in the liquid.
- Cover with a lid and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook according to pasta package instructions until al dente, about 10-12 minutes.
- Stir occasionally to prevent sticking, adding additional broth or water as needed to keep the mixture saucy.
