Description
Delightful skull-shaped bites filled with savory beef and melted cheese, perfect for festive gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 batch pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella and cheddar mix)
- 1 cup cooked ground beef (or turkey/plant-based substitute)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 egg mixed with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté finely chopped onion and garlic until translucent. Add cooked ground beef and season with Italian herbs. Allow to cool slightly.
- Roll out the dough: Divide the pizza dough into equal portions. Roll each piece into a round shape, large enough to encase the filling.
- Shape the skulls: Using a skull-shaped mold or cut-out template, press out the dough. Spoon the cooled filling into the center and top with shredded cheese. Place another piece of dough on top and seal the edges with a fork.
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the shaped skulls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with egg wash for a golden finish. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
Serve with marinara sauce for dipping or a side salad for a complete meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
