Description
A delightful blend of cinnamon rolls and peach cobbler, topped with a crumbly streusel for an extraordinary treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 ripe peaches, diced
- 1/4 cup sugar (for filling)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for filling)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for streusel)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour (for streusel)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for streusel)
Instructions
- Make the dough: Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast, allowing it to bloom until foamy. Whisk in melted butter and eggs, then add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead and rise: Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size.
- Prepare the filling: In a bowl, mix diced peaches with sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld.
- Roll and fill: Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle, spread the peach filling evenly, and roll tightly into a log. Cut into portions, and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Second rise: Cover the rolls and let them rise again until puffy.
- Make crumb streusel: In a separate bowl, combine ingredients for the streusel until crumbly. Sprinkle atop the risen rolls.
- Bake: Preheat the oven and bake until golden brown.
- Cool and serve: Allow to cool slightly before serving to preserve the filling’s integrity.
Notes
Serve warm, ideally with powdered sugar or cream cheese glaze. Pairs beautifully with coffee or peach-infused iced tea.
